Snowshoe hike Pojeralm Ahornach/Acereto

Tour in a magical winter landscape in what is called the “battle zone”, the region where vegetation has to battle with the elements to stay alive and trees are often stunted. Lovely panoramic views. Refreshments: Roanerhof near the start.

Car parking in Val di Poia some 3 km after Acereto, directly at the start of the walk. Follow the broad forestry road until it becomes a simple mountain path, directly to the pasture through windswept, bent pines. No refreshments.
Almost 500 m elevation, moderately steep. Outbound = return route. Across open ground only.
